What is Lockstep?

Lockstep is a sports picks platform that allows users to make predictions about upcoming professional sports games and earn points based on the accuracy of their picks. Scoring is based on the sportsbook probability of the outcome, not simple win/loss scoring. The goal is to outperform other users, climb leaderboards, and have fun. Leaderboards reset every calendar month to keep competition fresh!

Picks and Scoring

You can browse picks from the home page or a game page for any of the leagues. The in-season, supported leagues all appear on the navigation bar so you can find an upcoming game easily. The percentage odds of the selected team winning is displayed and used to calculate points gained if correct, and lost if incorrect. You can make picks for as many or as few games as you like, and skipping on uncertain games is valid strategy. Scores accumulate across the current month, and leaderboards highlight the players performing the best!

Supported Leagues

Currently, we support the following leagues: NFL, NBA, MLB, and the Champions League.

More leagues will be added over time. Games are automatically created, updated, and resolved with final scores. Some sports, like soccer, may include the option to select a draw rather than a specific team winning. New games appear once sportsbook data is available. When a game is not in season, it is not displayed in the navigation bar or UI.

Competition and Community

Competition is fostered through global leaderboards that show the top performing players. You can also view people's profiles to view pick history and points. The platform is designed to be checked regularly as games unfold.

Future Plans

We have many plans for future features and improvements, including:

  • Adding more sports leagues
  • Introducing booster options to increase risk and reward on picks
  • Implementing private leagues so you can compete on leaderboards with your friends
  • Adding achievements and badges for milestones and accomplishments
  • Hand in hand with the above, additional profile customization
  • Login or pick streaks, to encourage engagement
